THE MINISTRY

God is eternal, sovereign, supreme ruler, ultra-dimensional and eternally self-existent. God is love, holy, mighty, just, the Creator of all, who is the beginning and the end. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, who holds all things together from the past to the future. God is one yet He is triune in nature known as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (1 Timothy 1:17 & Deuteronomy 33:27).

The Bible is the inspired word of God, the only true written revelation from God to mankind. The Bible is infallible and the authoritative word of faith giving direction on mankind’s conduct (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Exodus 31:18; Deuteronomy 9:10).

Jesus Christ is the incarnate 2nd person of the Trinity. Jesus in the Hebrew means ‘to deliver’, ‘to rescue’, ‘saviour’ and Christ in the Hebrew means “The Messiah”, “The Anointed One”. The eternal Son of God became man concurrently being God. Scripture declares the following: Jesus was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-23). Jesus lived a sinless life (Hebrew 7:26; 1 John 3:4-5). Jesus performed many miracles (Matthew 8:5-27 & 9:18-31; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 7:11-18 & 8:43-48; Acts 2:22 & 10:37-38). Jesus died on the cross for the remission of sins and resurrected from the dead (Matthew 28:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 1:3). Jesus is highly exalted at the right hand of God the Father as our Lord, High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25 & 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2). Jesus will come again in His glory to judge the living and the dead (2: Timothy 4:1; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Acts 17:31; John 5:22-27; 1 Peter 4:5).

The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Trinity. Holy Spirit in the Hebrew is ‘Ha Ruach Ha Kodesh’ who is the breath and divine force of God that disperses the intentions of God and is essentially the emanation of his being. Holy Spirit in Greek is Pneuma and described as ‘Parakletos’ translated as ‘Counselor’, ‘Helper’, ‘Comforter’, and ‘Advocate’ (John 14:16-17 & 16:13-14; Romans 8:26-27). When Christ is confessed as Lord and received into the heart of the believer, the baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs which places the believer into the Body of Christ (Acts 2:38 & 19:4). We believe that the Holy Spirit apportions spiritual gifts to people as the Spirit determines (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). We believe that the fruits of the spirit are a by-product of a spirit filled life and submission to the will of God and the evidence of maturity in the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23; Philippians 1:11; Ephesians 5:9). Believers live in companionship with the Holy Spirit who continually sanctifies, teaches, guides and edifies.

God created man in His image and after His likeness, designed to have dominion and steward His creation. However, Adam and Eve disobeyed God by their own will (Genesis 3:6). Following this, a curse was pronounced to Adam, Eve and the Serpent (Genesis 3:14-19). Man was banished from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:23). The process of physical and spiritual death commenced (Genesis 2:17). Sin disconnected man from God, leaving man in a sinful state in need of the Atonement of Christ.

Jesus Christ came to redeem man from their fallen state. He is the atoning sacrifice for mankind, reconciled man to God and died for the remission of sins (1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 9:26; Romans 3:25). When we have faith in Christ we are then justified by our faith not by works, thereby we receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We are given eternal life (John 3:16). Our sins are forgiven and wiped away (Hebrews 8:12; Isaiah 43:25). We are reconciled by the finished work of the cross, reformed by faith in the Lord and we are made the righteousness of Christ (Romans 4:4-5; 2 Corinthians 5:21). The names of believers are written in the book of life (Revelation 3:5) and we become inhabitants of the Kingdom of God (Matthew 25:34).

We believe that true followers of Christ are eternally sealed by the Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14; John 6:37-40; Romans 8:1; 1 Peter:1:5). By having faith in Jesus we are grafted into the family of God and can rejoice in the assurance of salvation by the testimony of the God's Word as we are covered by the blood of Jesus and transformed by His glorious power. A Christ-centred life should no longer indulge in sin. Christian liberty should never be used as a masquerade to fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:13; Romans 6:1-2 & 13:13; Titus 2:11-14). We have been made holy and are called to be representatives of Christ, therefore we must be like Him (1 John 4:17).

The Body of Christ are the people of God, the Church. The Church is one body but with different members carrying out different functions (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Colossians 1:24). Christ is the head of the church, the church being the salt, light and watchmen of the earth (Mark 5:13-16). Christ has given the Body of Christ the following mandate: [1] To follow Jesus always (Mark 1:17; Luke 9:23). [2] To spread His word which is the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the whole world (Matthew 24:14; Mark 16:15). [3] Make disciples of the nations, baptise and teach (Matthew 28:19-20). [4] To equip the Body of Christ for ministry thereby, serving, impacting and transforming peoples lives to come to Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 1 Peter 4:10)

Baptism in Water is an act of repentance and public profession of faith in Jesus Christ. The immersion in water is a Christian rite that symbolises a believers death to sin (Romans 6:4). Water baptism also symbolises a believers resurrection in Christ. Once the believer is immersed and raised up out of the water, it expresses the newness of life in Christ and our union with Him. Baptism is a commandment from Christ and is to be observed when the believer has accepted Christ. (Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38 & 22:16; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21).

The Holy Communion, also known as ‘The Euracharist’ and ‘The Lord’s Supper’ is a sacrament in the Christian faith and carried out as an ordinance. The Holy Communion is a memorial of the sufferings Jesus took for our sake giving us freedom from the bondage of sin whereby we can celebrate in victory through his resurrection. It is an opportunity for believers to examine themselves, reflect and cherish the forgiveness and grace of God we have in Christ (Mathew 26:26-28).

The covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is ordained by God as holy, sacred and wonderful (Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:9; Hebrews 13:4). In a world that tends to devalue marriage leading to frailty, we believe marriage should be held in high regard and by the grace of God and through God’s Word bringing guidance, there is hope for healthy and prosperous marriages. With a community of faithful believers who work in unity, brokenness and damage from past relationships can be healed through the work of God. Scripture advises to avoid marriages that are unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). The Bible also gives specific reasons for divorce relating to sexual immorality (Matthew 5:31-32). Marriage mirrors the bond between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:25-27). Therefore, there is a responsibility on man and woman to uphold love and faithfulness for one another in order to keep their covenant and thrive in marriage. The husband’s role as instructed in scripture is to love his wife and lead with the mind of Christ. The wife’s role is to trust her husbands leadership, support and respect him in love, just as the church trusts the Lord Jesus as he first loved us. (Ephesians 5:25-33; 1 Peter 3:7).

God created humanity with genders to enjoy his plan of sexual intimacy within marriage. Cultures and different customs have strayed from God's way for marriage and this has caused over-indulgence in various forms of ungodly marriage. From scripture, any sexual acts outside of marriage is sexual immorality that stems from lust of the flesh. This includes sexual intimacy within pre-marital, same-sex, polyamorous, polygamous and bi-sexual relationships. This includes adulterous, bestiality, incestuous and pornographic forms of sexuality (1 Timothy 1:10). All of these are against God's way for sexuality to be expressed, which should only allowed in the confines of marriage. The Bible warns believers to flee from sexual immorality and that sexual sin is committed against ones body (1 Corinthians 6:18). Our bodies must be offered as a living sacrifice for God as we are the temple of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 3:16). However, the good news of Jesus is that although sexual intimacy outside of marriage is immoral, God is forgiving and has provided a way of redemption and renewal to all who confess and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9; 1 John 1:9; 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11).

God's purpose for man is highlighted in the beginning and end of his written Word. In the beginning of the world God planned for man to share in his dominion with Him over his creation (Genesis 1:28; Revelation 21:7). God does not desire for us to perish but that all will come to repentance and be grafted into his family, be prosperous on the earth, excel in His might and partake in His Kingdom (2 Peter: 3:9; Jeremiah 29:11; John 1:12; Romans 8:28; 2 Timothy 1:7). One of the ways God orchestrates the manifestation of a fulfilled purpose is by the people of God growing and doing exploits through provision of spiritual gifts by the power of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual gifts are mentioned in the New Testament (Romans; 12:8; Ephesians 4:1-13; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). Some of the notable gifts of the spirit are as follows: Apostleship (Galatians: 2:7-10), Prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:1&14:3), Evangelism (2 Timothy 4:5), Pastor (Acts 20:28), Teaching (Romans 12:7), Administration (2 Corinthians 8:19-20), Craftsmanship (Exodus 35:30-33), Discernment (Philippians 1:9-10), Exhortation (1 Thessalonians 5:20), Faith (1 Corinthians 12:9), Giving (Acts 4:32), Healing (1 Corinthians 12:30), Helps (Acts 9:36), Hospitality (1 Peter 4:9-10), Intercession (Colossians 4:12), Interpretation (1 Corinthians 14:27-28), Word of Knowledge (Matthew 9:4), Word of Wisdom (Acts 6:3), Leadership (1 Timothy 5:17), Mercy (Luke 10:33-34), Miracles (Acts 19:11-12), Service (Galatians 6:10) and Tongues (Acts 10:44-46). The purpose of man is delegated by God and is found in Genesis where God's divine order for man’s purpose is outlined. Man’s purpose is to fulfil the commission of God for dominion and His glorification upon all the earth. [1] BE FRUITFUL – to produce and to cultivate [2] MULTIPLY – to grow and increase in number [3] FILL THE EARTH – to disseminate, to replenish and spread around his word and love [4] SUBDUE – to overcome the opposition of God and take control [5] DOMINION – to reign, to dominate, to have authority, to be in command over the work of darkness and have pre-eminence under God (Genesis 1:28)

There is a final judgement awaiting creation where the dead will be resurrected and judged according to their works during their lifetime (Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 2:1-9; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:12). The events leading to the final judgement is referred to in the Bible as ‘The Day of The Lord’ (Psalm 82, Joel 1:15 & 2:1-11; Zephaniah 1:14, Obadiah 1:15; Isaiah 13:6; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17; Acts 2:20; Revelations 6:12-17). Those whose name are not written in the Book of Life will be consigned to hell in condemnation with Satan and his angels (Revelation: 20:13-15). For those who have their name written in the Book of Life, they will be resurrected and will stand at the judgement seat of Christ to be given a reward for their good works (Romans 2:6; 1 Corinthians 4:5). The faithful saints will reign with Christ to judge the world for a millennium and thereafter will enjoy the Kingdom of God in the new heaven and new earth for eternity (Revelation 21:1-4). There are two types of judgement Two types of judgement 1. The great white throne which is the judgement of those who have not given their heart to Jesus Christ and those whose names are not written in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:11-15). 2. Mercy seat of Christ which is for all those who have received JESUS CHRIST as their Lord and personal saviour, those whose names are listed in the Book of Life (2 Corinthians 5:10).
